Many past films, riders, and locations have inspired us. Some of those locations are now our backyards, and some of those riders are now our friends. From the Inside Out is our adventure to the places we've always wanted to ride, and our expression of the lines and styles that have influenced us. This is freeride mountain biking. This film is from us – the riders.

Written, directed and edited by The Coastal Crew and produced by Anthill Films, From the Inside Out was filmed entirely in British Columbia, the birthplace of freeride, and features some of the sport's best riders, including: Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Thomas Vanderham, Matt Hunter, Graham Agassiz, Mike Hopkins, Kenny Smith & The Coastal Crew. Summer Time Voltage

This year has been busy; we have committed to producing a full film called From the Inside Out. Recently we finally had a bit of time off so we took the time to show how we ride at home. We have a lot of variety in our trails. Riding the Scott Voltage FR allows us to go out and ride what ever we want, all on the same frame set!

From the Inside Out - Stevie Smith Teaser

Filming for our first film 'Inside Out' has begun. We were stoked to have Stevie Smith clear his schedule to work with us before he headed back to the races. Curt, Dyl, Norbz and photographer Nic Teichrob packed up the gear and hit the ferries to Vancouver Island.

Sunny weather made for a few slow starts but as soon as the clouds rolled in we were able to kill it. Stevie blew our minds as he crushed every section of trail he took us to. We were nervous running the cable cam at such high speeds to keep up with him. He's an insanely powerful rider and it really came across in the shots. There was one drift corner he rode so fast that he looks like he is sliding on ice.

Working with Stevie is a dream; he is on point, prepared, efficient and works hard for the camera. He knows the processes of filming and what it takes to keep things rolling smoothly.

Looking forward to working more with Stevie in the future and best of luck to him at the rest of the World Cups this season! Also it is sick to see him back on the Blackbox racing side of the program! We wrapped up the shoot and hit the ferries home, as Stevie headed to the US open, and ended up finishing second!

‘Inside Out’ is set to be released Fall 2011 on DVD, BluRay and digital download. From The Inside Out - Full Film

The Coastal Crew has taken one large step into the world of film making by teaming up with Anthill Films to produce our first feature mountain bike film. By meshing our unique rider perspectives with Anthill’s long-time experience and success, we are excited to present ‘from the Inside Out’

From The Inside Out - First Look from SecondBase Films on Vimeo.

‘Inside Out’ will be the first film in a new annual series that will give an inside look at the influences and people that have shaped the Coastal Crew as riders, builders and cinematographers. The film will be a candid look into our vision of freeride mountain biking and the way it has inspired us. Through the film you will be brought along on our adventures as we visit the locations that we've always wanted to ride and create the lines that express our vision of the sport. This will be a film from the riders themselves to show what true freeride mountain biking is. Everyone has a dream, and we do what it takes to live ours.

Many films, riders and locations in the past 10 years have inspired us. Fortunately it turns out that some of those locations are in our own backyards, and many of those riders are now our friends. In addition to the Coastal Crew - Curtis Robinson, Dylan Dunkerton, Kyle Norbraten - the film will feature: Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Thomas Vanderham, Matt Hunter, Graham Agassiz, Mike Hopkins and Kenny Smith.

The riders from ‘Inside Out’ are going to bring you into the locations that fire them up to ride! We will explore the diverse, natural terrain of British Columbia to take on new zones that reek of high potential and to revisit iconic locations from the past. There are many lines that have been scouted over the past few years but have remained untapped until the time was right… and now that time has come. We will be sure to cover all bases, including: the Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Whistler, Shuswap, Fernie, Rossland, Squamish, Vancouver Island and Kamloops.

Nicolas Teichrob's Endless Creative Mind

Our good friend and photographer Nicolas Teichrob of Dendrite Studios has spent the last moth of his life going full speed producing what I believe to be his best work yet. Nic put this piece together for the Kootenay Mountain Culture / Arc'teryx Coldsmoke Powder Fest Multimedia Comp , and its no suprise that he took home the gold. Congrats Tek-Tonic!

ZERO DEGREES explores winter in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, and our relationship with the freezing level. Every winter it rains and snows at all elevations from sea level to mountain top peaks. People living on the coast learn to appreciate what the rains bring and make the most out of all conditions. We love it here.
